Michael and Emily Eavis, the organisers of the Glastonbury festival, have applied to Mendip District Council to change their license so that the festival can run up until 2016.
They want to be allowed to open the car park for the Worthy Farm event on the Tuesday of the event each year, instead of the Wednesday. More space for camping has also been requested.
A decision on the application is expected in February. If granted, Glastonbury Festival's future would be assured up until 2016, as the new licence replace the old one, reports BBC News.
This year's Glastonbury takes place on June 25th to the 27th. U2 are set to headline the Friday (25th) night, while Emily Eavis is in the process of finalising the rest of the line-up.
