CROW formed from the ashes of previous outfit DOOR MARKED SUMMER. Initially sounding like a more Hardcore HAWKWIND or OZRIC TENTACLES, CROW have progressed into a band that incorporated a myriad of styles into their songs. Hardcore, Tribal Psychedelia, Trance, Reggae, Metal, Funk, Prog, it is all in there. This isn't a disjointed clash of styles, the music just seems to naturally flow between different extremes as and when required. Our lyrics promote positivity and speak of environmental, spiritual and social issues, yet we are equally happy to let the music do the talking, as about half of our material is instrumental. In addition to the music, CROW gigs incorporate visual elements such as lighting + projection (courtesy of Corvus Lighting), backdrops and stage props. Many gigs have also seen us team up with the jugglers of the Kent Circus School and the combination of CROW's hypnotic tribal rhythms with the primal spectacle of fire-jugglers and -breathers make for an intoxicating brew. To this day the scent of paraffin takes me back to happier times... CROW split up in 1995, but met up again last year after the death of their promoter Bryan. Their reformation has been followed with lots of interest and a charity gig is planned for the summer.
