Ed first discovered the Ukulele when he watched a video of Jake Shimabukuro playing his song, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps". This started off a whole new era in his music. He was already playing Jazz and Classical Piano, Cello, Double Bass and Electric Bass, and he thought teaching himself the ukulele might be a laugh.
He started off on a 15 pound Mahalo Soprano, later moved onto an Oscar Schmidt OU2 Acoustic-Electric Concert Ukulele, and has now moved onto a classy Ashbury GR3616 Acoustic-Electric Tenor Koa Ukulele. He found the tabs for While My Guitar Gently Weeps on Google, and started playing. A few months after learning While My Guitar Gently Weeps, he played his first gig on the ukulele, at the Regener8 festival at a local university.
Since beginning writing his own songs, Ed has played in various open-mic nights, and school concerts. Having played Jazz, Rock and Funk in various groups he has a wide range of musical taste and experience.
