Hobo Jones & The Junkyard Dogs are one of the most unique musical acts on the circuit today. Covering a wide range of music from genuine 1950's skiffle such as Lonnie Donegan, through Led Zeppelin & The Doors, via Johnny Cash to modern classics such as Green Day, Motorhead and even The Pussycat Dolls, this band appeal to a wide range of ages & tastes.
In 2005, after winning The Maidstone Busker's Festival, the band supported acts such as Chas & Dave, Dr & The Medics and Bad Manners; All of whom were very pleased to have them warm up their audiences for them. They were also amazing up to 7,000 hairy bikers at The Bath & West Bike Show (so much so, they were asked to play a second set the next day) and headlining The Canterbury Eurofair 2005.
In 2006 they were the headline act on Friday Night at The Run To The Sun Custom Car Show in Newquay Cornwall and The VW Expo show at The Hop Farm, Kent. Performed several slots at the Beautiful Days Festival organised by The Levellers and were asked back to play at The Canterbury Eurofair 2006. They even performed at The Pear Shaped Comedy Club at the Edinburgh Festival 2006 and were official buskers on The Royal Mile.
In 2007 they have already been confirmed acts at two major festivals; Beautiful Days & Endorse-It In Dorset as well as returning to The Run To The Sun Custom Car Show and The VW Expo again. They completed a mini-tour of Somerset in March and released their first CD "Live At The Roadhouse."
Formed in 2003, the band was a lash back against the standard pub rock bands that seemed to be playing all the same covers in all the same venues, all in the same style. As they all had a secret love of classic Rock N Roll, Rhythm & Blues, they started to experiment with the forgotten art of Skiffle however, it was obvious that their modern rock influences couldn't be suppressed. Their Lo Fi/No Fi, tongue in cheek approach was a welcome & refreshing change to the stagnant, po-faced musicians who took themselves way too seriously.
Dressed as 1940's Hobos with tattered suits and top hats, they could have stepped straight out of a railway yard full of steam engines in an old black & white movie. The basic core of three members named Hobo Jones (tea chest bass), Miser Bill (guitar) & Wino Tyrone (washboard, pots, pans & sink) is occasionally added to by a wild array of characters including a Reverend "Jailbird" O'Conner & a down & out spiv named Suitcase McGregor among others. Not to mention Vagabond Johnson (see website)

We were all shouting, singing along, laughing, and joining in"
