"One of Britain's upcoming gems" Maxim UK
"Hotly-tipped singer-songwriter" - TIME OUT
With a massive and ever-increasing 1.2 million followers on Twitter (comedy legend Stephen Fry has 1.3m) classically trained London rocker Noush Skaugen has the sort of viral clout that most artists can only dream about. Noush’s instinctive use of social media - crowd-sourcing poster designs from fans, and tweeting pictures of last-minute changes to hand-written set lists seconds before going on stage - has made her the number one most followed unsigned artist on the explosively popular social network, and a real force to be reckoned with. This fact has not escaped the attention of Twitter bosses, who have invited her to play a live-streamed showcase from their San Francisco HQ at 5.30pm PST this Friday, March 12th (1.30am GMT) – to watch the performance live click through to http://noushskaugen.com/live
With two albums under her belt and a third due for release in the spring – cut by Robbie Williams’ legendary producer Steve Power and pulling in writing talent from 80s icons Nik Kershaw, Jeff Trott and Paul Brady - Noush’s Twitter gig kicks off a series of dates prior to the May release of her new single Run Baby Run, a lyrically driven, darkly upbeat electro-tinged track, including a performance at the showcase of influential London promoter Tony Moore (The Kashmir Klub, The Bedford, The Regal Room) at SXSW on March 19th.The single can be previewed at http://myspace.com/noushskaugen
The hard-working and charismatic performer has also notched up a string of impressive live dates during two years touring in the USA, appearing alongside a multitude of impressive acts including Nine Inch Nails, TV On The Radio, Paramore, R.E.M., Joss Stone and The Mars Volta at gigs in LA, Nashville, Austin and New Orleans. This culminated in her winning Alternative Pop Artist of the Year at the 17th Annual LA Music Awards, and National Independent Rock EP of the Year at The Hollywood Music Awards.
