Based in Canterbury in the south-east of England, Waterhorse is comprised of Terence Reis on vocals and guitars, Sarah Nicholls on vocals, Emily Wassell on violin and vocals, Ryan Strand on guitars, Chris Cassar on bass and Paul Townsend on drums and percussion.
The band has been steadily building a following in their native Kent for their distinctive fusion of rock, blues, folk, acoustic, roots, and Celtic influences. With a reputation for quality material, musicianship and powerhouse performances came both an Artists Agreement with Line6 and a sponsorship deal with BOSE.
In 2006, the band was invited to the Bournemouth Music Festival, headlined by Bob Dylan, where they play again the following year. The summer also saw a return to Broadstairs Folk Week. Following their packed out performance in 2006, they made three appearances in 2007, including playing the prestigious “New To You” slot.
2007 also saw the release of the debut EP, Nature Laughs Last, appearances at Lounge On The Farm and debut performances at the Faversham Hop Festival, Sweeps Festival and Wallingford Bunkfest.
Fittingly, the festival season was closed with a sold out, debut performance at the Canterbury Festival.
In London, Waterhorse has opened for James Carrington at Bush Hall in Shepherd’s Bush and, at the historic 100 Club, have been asked to open for numerous acts, including John Ottway, Jerry Fish and The Mudbug Club and Terra Folk.
