Bored with the offerings of chart music in 1996 and endless record company produced mindless dross being forced down everybody's throats, a group of like minded individuals came up with the idea of creating a punk rock style antidote for people who felt the same way. Jester played their first gig in Dover in 1997, pulling in a crowd of over a hundred people. The crowd were treated to an evening of classic punk covers from the late 70's, including songs from the likes of the Sex Pistols, Still Little Fingers, The UK Subs, The Undertones, The Buzzcocks, The Clash, The Damned and many more, leaving them with an appetite for more. Jester were born!
As well as their own material, Jester play music that has either influenced them, or they enjoy, from bands as mentioned above to more up to date bands like The Offspring, Pennywise and Rancid, Jester deliver with a big modern sound. Jester entertain both musically and visually by involving the crowd with their interactive live performances. The sheer energy of their shows ensures packed audiences at every venue they appear at.
