Those Distant Voices is a rock Super Group formed in Herne Bay in 2010 by Dan
"DJ Dan" Rogers and Nick Tovey. The group also included a mysterious drummer
known only as "Drum Machine" during live performances. Drum Machine preferred to
stay out of the limelight and as such there are no known photographs of this
illusive band member. They band began recording in 2010, and performed their
first gig on 19 June 2010 at the world famous Margate Cricket Club.
In early 2011 Drum Machine quit the band! Both Dan and Nick spent many nights
thinking that this was the end of the band until a Mr James Barber knocked on
their door offering his services…..they turned this offer down and instead
offered him the position of drummer in the band! James turned out to be an
amazing drummer, although he was into some heavy music Dan and Nick managed to tame him…..the rest, as they say, is history.
For 3 years Dan, Nick and James played in pubs and clubs all over Kent
playing their take on classic songs from bands such as The Beatles, Led
Zeppelin, Radiohead, Muse and Carly Rae Jepson (in your dreams Dan!) until
Now a 4 piece, Those Distant Voices have begun their mission to reclaim their
SuperGroup status….so keep an eye out and watch this space!
