Sam Brothers is a Margate-based folk singer-songwriter whose bluesy guitar, harmonica, and stompbox performances evoke the spirit of the 1960s Greenwich Village and Soho folk scenes. Described by Acoustic Magazine as “always compelling,” his music draws deep inspiration from artists like Pete Seeger, Bert Jansch, Bob Dylan, and Sonny Terry & Brownie McGhee.

A genuine travelling troubadour, Sam began performing on the streets of Brighton at a young age and was discovered in 2017 by producer Mark St. John (known for work with Bob Marley and Eddy Grant). This led to the release of his debut album Farewell To My Old Days, recorded live to tape and distributed by Proper Records. The album received strong support from national and local radio and sold out its first pressing within a year.

Sam has since performed across the UK and Europe, sharing stages with acts like Sarah Jarosz, Rab Noakes, Will Varley, and The Pretty Things. His festival appearances include the Isle of Wight Festival, Lunar, Blissfields, and Sandwich Folk & Ale. In 2023, he reached the finals of the Gwangju Busking World Cup in South Korea and released a new EP titled The Folksinger. He continues to tour internationally, with recent performances in Germany and Japan.

Sam’s music is a heartfelt blend of tradition and originality, delivered with raw authenticity and a timeless voice that resonates with folk audiences across generations.
