Freak 90 are a high‑energy, feel‑good band built on musicianship, personality, and a shared love of great music. Formed by five long‑time friends with deep musical roots, the band blends soulful vocals, tight grooves, and a seriously fun live vibe that keeps audiences hooked from the first note.

Kat – Co‑Founder & Lead Vocals

Kat’s voice is the heart of Freak 90. She grew up singing in her dad’s function/show band and now brings over 20 years of experience to the stage. Soulful, powerful, and effortlessly charismatic, she delivers every song with style and emotion.

Priyal – Co‑Founder & Lead/Rhythm Guitar

Priyal’s guitar playing is a melting pot of influences — Jan Akkerman, George Benson, Carlos Santana, Larry Carlton and more. Whether he’s laying down smooth rhythm or soaring lead lines, his sound is a key part of the band’s identity. He also adds backing vocals.

Steve – Co‑Founder, Bass & Backing Vocals

With a degree in Classical and Jazz music, Steve brings serious musical depth. When he’s not holding down the low end for Freak 90, he performs as the keyboardist for the latest Hot Chocolate lineup. He claims he stays bass‑fit by swimming in the “warm” waters of the North Kent coast.

James – Co‑Founder, Keyboards & Backing Vocals

James splits his time between Freak 90 and a well‑known Canterbury choir. He’s the only choir singer we know who can rap as confidently as he sings. With his rich baritone voice, a Barry White tribute act may well be in his future.

Peter – Co‑Founder, Drums (and occasional Keyboards)

Peter is a qualified musician influenced by drumming legends like Vinnie Colaiuta and Simon Phillips. When he’s not behind the kit — or covering keyboards when two drummers accidentally show up — he works as a sound engineer and runs his own PA hire company.
